There was a spectacular showdown between a 60 year old uncle and about 6 paikias at Yishun MRT.

At first, I was walking towards the bus stop from the underpass leading to Yishun MRT. There was this group of paikias in front of me. Dyed hair, funny spectacles, tattoo, ear piercings, lip piercings, funny clothes... you know how one looks like right? Yea. Suddenly, all of them stopped and turned 180 degrees. I just continued walking and did not look back to see why they turned around. Moments later, I heard a loud "Yeeaaarrrrgh!!!" and a sound of a punch. I turned around and saw a huge group of people forming. I pushed my way through and saw what happened - my goodness! A 60 year old uncle had punched one of the paikias onto the floor! Judging from his distance from the uncle (about 2 metres), his bleeding nose, his bleeding mouth, as well as his bent spectacles, he must have been whacked in the face freaking hard! The uncle looked extremely angry. Seriously, he looked so angry, no words can describe him. He didn't look angry, he WAS angry. You definitely wouldn't want to be near him if he was that angry. Without saying a word, he pushed his way through the shocked paikias and walked away, and in seconds, he looked like any uncle on the street, without a single piece of evidence that a fight took place merely seconds ago.

I don't really know what happened, but we can more or less deduce and guess what exactly happened - the paikias must have provoked him. Thinking that they were in a group and the man was just an old man, they probably did something to piss him off, like pushing him or something. Then the old man blew is top and unleashed such a forceful punch which I currently dream of emulating. Haha.

This shows one thing - paikias on the street are more or less cowards. Think about it, these people smoke, drink, listen to their gang poems everyday, slack at void decks, dress like idiots (except for some), some carry knives, vandalise public property - these guys are probably "tough" huh. But all it took, was for an uncle to punch one of their friends so hard he was sprawled on the floor and had to be helped up, and the the hamster in them showed. They helped their fallen "comrade" (not very appropriate word, but nvm) up and slowly backed away. The 60 year-old uncle approached them menacingly with clenched fists and a face which was steaming with rage, and they retreated and walked backwards!

I decided to follow the uncle for a while, and I did, examining him and walking behind him, keeping him at arms length in case he thought I was one of them and hit me as well. He looked normal and his expression was just like one of the average uncles you see on the street. As I passed by the toilet, where the paikias were, I saw one of them outside the toilet making a phone call. Calling for back-up? Too late, the uncle has left. They're also cowards. There were about 6 of them and they still needed back-up to handle a 60 year old uncle? What the nut. Calling for a doctor? Possible, but unlikely. Whatever it is, the uncle was outnumbered 6 to 1, yet he managed to get them to disperse. This incident shows you that paikias are nothing much to fear. Let this uncle be a shining example of courage and bravery for us to follow, not just when it comes to handling paikias on the street (although I strongly advise against fighting a paikia on the street for no reason as that is morally wrong indeed), but in life, in everything we do, such as studies.
