The ZHENKAI (zk) is the SI unit for badminton skill.

Heres the hierarchy -

Jordans skill is double of Zhenkai, so he's 2 zk.

Yao Cheng's skill is double of Jordan, so he's 4 zk.

My skill is double of Yao Cheng, so I'm 8 zk.

Zi Xin's skill is double of mine, so he's 16 zk.

Glennson's skill is double of Zi Xin, so he's 32 zk.

A junior national team guy's skill is double of Glennson, so he would be 64 zk.

A senior national team guy's skill is double of a junior, so he would be 128 zk.

The top badminton player in Singapore, like Ronald Susilo, would be double of a senior national team guy, so he would be 256 zk.

The number one in the world, Lin Dan, would even be FOUR times of Ronald Susilo, thus he would be 1024 zk.

What exactly does it mean when a person is, say, 100 zk?

It means that out of 100 matches, the guy will win 100 times before Zhenkai wins once.

So, since Zhenkai = 1 zk, if makes sense because if he were to play with himself, assuming all other factors are constant, the other Zhenkai will win one time before Zhenkai wins once, making it a draw, thus proving that this is true.

This has been invented by me, Yao cheng and Jordan.

Ha.

Prelim 1 over, so now I shall blog. Ha ha.

I have clear plan for all my subjects. So, I shall not make myself depressed by blogging about school - related things.

Instead I shall be blogging about something less depressing.

What?

I was thinking that some people are always frowning.

This blog post is about our handsome, monotonous and dull-voiced announcer, the hero who always has a frown as dark as thunderclouds, with a glare as piercing as a spear. When he speaks the school resounds with his booming voice.

Good Morning school, this is Mr Julian Teo speaking!

Today's flag raising will be in the classrooms

When our dashing hero walks, he does not walk but strides. His footsteps, sounding as ominous as the voice of law, strike deep fear into everyone's hearts. He exudes an incredible crushing aura, making all who pass him look at him, their facial expressions showing a wild mix of shock and awe, fear and respect.

When our knight in the shining shirt begins to raise his wizardly voice, everyone begins cowering in fear. Even the bravest of students are struck down, knocked down, simply bowled over like twigs, obstacle cones and bowling pins respectively. Then judgement begins. At the end of it everyone is languishing in the open plaza, facing the flag pole, looking at none other than the tiles on the plaza. How very sad.

Oh well thats life.

Hey what crap was I blogging man.

It was fun though.

I was suddenly thinking about it.

What the hell is Mr Edwin Heng thinking?

When he criticised those who had long hair, he was making a big mistake!

Look at his hair! My my, he would fail a standard hair check very badly!

His fringe is too long! His hair is touching his ears and the back of his collar!

Has Edwin Heng become a senile man?

Or perhaps he has not been looking in his bathroom mirror for quite some time!

Whatever it is, he should cut his hair!

Then he would throw the ball back in our court by saying

I am a grown man so I can keep whatever hairstyle I please

You are students so shut up

You can run faster,

The world doesn't revolve around you!

So we can burst the ball by saying

He should be setting a good example

It is like a President saying,

The AIDS rate in our country is too high

So stop having sex freely

Then the President himself has sex with his own personal assistants

Then he answers

I am the PRESIDENT,

So I can have sex with whoever I please...

BOOM

Does not make any sense does it?

SO THE HONOURABLE SIR EDWIN HENG SHOULD CUT HIS ROYAL BEAUTIFUL LUSCIOUS THICK COAT OF HAIR

What I am saying?

No I have not flamed him

I think he's great

Bye bye and go study for Prelim 1.

11 February, 2009

I am extremely disappointed.

What seemed impossible and almost reality-defying has been happening.

Cao Shengmao has been topping the class in English.

Yes, not any ordinary guy in class, Cao Shengmao.

I have already lost to him in two compre tests.

I AM FUCKING PISSED OFF AT MY PATHETIC, DISGUSTING, ATROCIOUS, DREADFUL AND MOST OF ALL, HUMILIATING RESULTS in all the compre tests so far.

No, there is no doubt that CSM had probably been mugging his eng like crazy during the holidays. Maybe he memorised a dictionary. Maybe he did one hundred compre exercises. I don't know. But what I do know is that I have lost to him.

If there is any alarm that should be ringing in my head about my english results, this is it.

It's fucking time to wake up. Losing to a China scholar in my strong subject?

No I am not angry at Shengmao, I am not flaming him. In fact I am full of respect for him for his amazing light-speed improvement in eng.

I am disgusted with myself.

From now on I will do whatever it takes to remove him from the throne of the eng master of the class. I mean come on he's already the maths master, physics master, chem master, bio master, chinese lit master, it doesnt matter if he loses this eng-master of 4-3 status although it would be a matter of great pride to him since its a remarkable achievement.

But I cannot stand this, so Shengmao will be my new benchmark for eng. No longer will the main benchmark be bryan ching or colin, no longer will I aim to beat bryan ching in eng anymore, my sole target will be Shengmao! Heehee.

What has made me so agitated is also the fact that of all people to top the class in english, its SHENGMAO. Its adding fuel to the fire, adding salt to the wound. Like I said before his achievements are definitely amazing and worthy of the respect of everyone, and I do not write this to flame him.

If I can't be the top in english in 4-3, someone please please win shengmao somehow, just anyone will do, probably when that happens my mind will be at ease.

So while I'm at it, I might as well put in effort for all my other subjects as well.

So I will probably not be blogging for some time. Prelims coming up, not that much time.

So bye

09 February, 2009

I am appalled that a certain teacher has been making rather slow progress.... While the other classes have gone all the way to other exercises and even completed the Celts and are doing other compres, we have just completed Wellington. And not only that, it took an entire lesson just to read out a compre passage! Bear that in mind - we had not even ventured into the questions - just going through the passage itself - that took an entire peroid. I mean, at most it should tkae 30 minutes, if one were to stop at important places and elaborate on them. But really, an entire lesson just to finish reading and explaining a passage? Thats rather ridiculous.

We should be happy though. Our neighbouring class has the mighty Barker's Eddy Heng teaching them, and he is as fierce as a tiger and a bear and an eagle combined. Luckily with Tinny tan ( a shiny tan??!) we have it rather easy, but still, the perfect teacher who strikes a balance is no doubt the Italian plumber who eats mushrooms.

06 February, 2009

The Final Countdown rocks! Mr Julian teo certainly has great taste in music. And what a perfect song title too. I took the song for granted, nowadays I begin to enjoy it. Haha.

Did maths. Now I am more confident, yay, but must practice.

I hate losing. Really, do I hate losing? Yes. I think that I am not a sore loser.

All the academic stuff is pissing me off right now. Lets see.

English - TT, gahh! Why can't we have Mario instead if, if what was said in lit class was true, she always has problems with every batch and causes crying and PSPs and speaks in her magical fantasyland? But other than being as boring as a traffic jam and the fact that she has a magical bubble which traps her in her own world of words everytime she speaks, and every-so-often she seems to go into a trance of some sort, she's pretty good. Ya, when she marks essays and journals and compres she really does it seriously. So we have to definitely applaud her for that.

Chinese - I have had a drastic transformation in my attitude. Now I think I'm much more enthu about Chinese than before.

Maths - Old Mcdonald is leaving, and Anna Tan coming back, ok I see. We were certainly in good hands.

Triple sciences - Physics, chem, bio take turns to give me problems. When one is settled the other comes along. Just need to memorise bio, revise chem, and practice physics.

Humans - History has been completed. Now left Southeast Asian history

Yay..... thats all.

Wow

Ok.

Bye bye

05 February, 2009

Oh there is nothing very important to blog about today.

Min En's low down, cheap dog tactics of hiding my drink is completely stupid and that makes him very stupid.

Leong Jiawei should also stay out of affairs which are none of his business.

Last of all, I continue to campaign for the aircon in the class, although I have gotten over the great disappointment. Elgyn Lau and Gywn Tan are continuing to irritate me, but never mind about this for now.

04 February, 2009

This post is dedicated to condemning and rebutting all of Elgyn Lau's arguments. It will make you think very deeply about the entire situation.

Principal Mr Lee Hak Boon has been an excellent Principal and has painstakingly looked for donations for the school. That is the reason why we have the Indoor Sports Hall now. That is also the reason why the school has installed air-conditioning units on the 5th floor classrooms.

It is definitely understandable why we should be careful when using the air-conditioning. As Elgyn has pointed out, the costs of turning on the air-conditioning are high, so we should use the air-conditioning properly so as to minimise the bills. However, I find it utterly stupid when we turn on the air-conditioning system and OPEN our doors and windows at the same time. This serves completely no purpose whatsoever, and in fact, is a big waste of electricity.

But what is Elgyn Lau and his small group of fellow conspirators thinking of? They are thinking of completely turning off the air-conditioning, and not turning it on at all. What is the point then, of installing the air-conditioning units? Why is it that because of the opinions of a small group of people, the air-conditioning of the class is turned off? Why do they have the power to turn it off at will? WHO are they to decide if the air-conditioning should be turned on or off? Elgyn Lau because he is a part of the student's council? Rubbish! So what if he is a part of the student's council? It does not count for anything if he goes about thinking he can do what he wants with the air-conditioning. How can this be an attribute of a so-called student leader? While I am fully aware of the fact I am not worthy of being one, it does not mean that I have to hold back my criticisms of him.

To solve this problem once and for all, the class should hold a vote, and a physical one. Although the poll on the class blog very clearly shows that the majority of the class wishes to have the air-conditioning turned on, we have not. Understandably the poll may not be very accurate since it is held on the web. In that case, only a physical vote will suffice, as only then will the results be accurate.

Elgyn Lau claims that the air-conditioning system makes the class sick. That is completely baseless as most of the people he mentioned have not been absent for a single day so far. It is clear as day for all to see that Elgyn Lau thinks that a runny nose means that you are sick, when a runny nose can be gone very quickly. Unless symptoms persist, the person in question is probably not sick. Unless Elgyn Lau can show that the people he claimed were sick were indeed sick, then his reasoning is flawed.

Let us use common sense. If air-conditioning indeed causes sickness, then why is the hall, why is the auditorium, why is the lecture theatre all air-conditioned? Never mind about them. If air-con is indeed so sickness-inducing, then it would have been dangerous to install the air-conditioning systems throughout the school in the first place, and in fact, would be against the law, as it will be endangering the health of the students. Has anything of that sort happened? The answer, is no, and it will remain that way for as long as we have good, responsible people managing the environment of the school. Since it has been proven that air-conditioning systems are safe, then Elgyn's point about people getting sick is nothing but a childish thought because air-conditioning systems are safe.

Let me quote Elgyn's argument posted on the class blog.

"can we all just switch the darned air con off and open our windows and doors for max ventilation and a free flow of natural, brain healthy oxygen, instead of breathing each other's so called 'excretory' materials?!"

Why not? We can open the doors as well, but you are demanding absolutely no air-con all day. At the very least, we should turn on the air-con on some days.

"that way, everyone can be comfortable and i dont have to FALL SICK thanks to SICK people who NATURALLY get SICK because of the AIRCON and after they FALL SICK the aircon helps to make everyone SICK and then we have a SICK CLASS with SICK INDUCING AIRCON and SICK AIR breathed in and out."

Has Elgyn fallen sick? What is the definition of falling sick? If you fall sick you do not come to school. You go to the doctor and get an MC. I do not remember not seeing Elgyn Lau for a day. So, has he fallen sick at all?

"think about it, that extra percentage of oxygen that we breathe in might make us more awake and allow our brain to perform better/to pay more attention."

True indeed. But that does not make much of a difference. I mean, you do see people dozing off whether it the air-con is on or off.

and EVERYONE gets to be comfortable! no one complains it is too hot, no one complains it is too cold, like how it was always

Unless a poll has been conducted to find out what the class would prefer, this statement is not worth a cent.

and i find it RIDICULOUS how people who just want to switch on the aircon for the sake of the free electricity can still tell me that they love it despite their noses and faces in flushed in pink after sneezing and sniffing like a zillion times

Elgyn is now saying that the class is doing so for the sake of free electricity? How about this, I find it RIDICULOUS how people like Elgyn simply refuse to use facilities which have been provided by the school. It is alright if he does not want to use them - but he drags the people who wish to use them as well. And it is not because we want to use the free electricity, it is because it does make the environment better, at least for people who know how to enjoy and make full use of the air-con, although of course Elgyn will not agree.

i appeal to everyone to be considerate and just do without the whole aircon, for the sake of people who are SUFFERING in silence...

What hypocritical words, coming from a so-called student leader who is ironically part of the student council.

Do without the whole aircon and waste the efforts of Mr Lee? Mr Lee will probably faint if he finds out that students are actually criticising the facilties of the school which he provided, calling them "sick inducing" machines. Do without the whole aircon, and forsake those who are of the opposing view? It is amazing that how one single person can be so authoritative, self-centred and arrogant.

Of course, even those who want to air-conditioning must be reasonable. If someone is visibly sick, then the air con must be turned off immediately to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. I cannot stress this point enough.

But if the danger of diseases is no longer existent, say later in this month, then this argument will hold true.

So, the question is, do we want the aircon? We can tell only if the class votes...

(This is not done to flame Elgyn in any way. Rather, I am simply rebutting his points the way he rebutted mine. I certainly do enjoy this. Heehee.)

---------------------

So that was my long post. Gah.... It was fun writing it. Heh. Ya, I do think the aircon should be turned on. But if someone is sick we should turn it off. But if everyone is fine, then well.... turning it off would be pure stupidity. Argh.

Stress is really piling up now. Chem and Bio giving me the most problems.

03 February, 2009

Woo, first February post!

Sorry I didn't have a punctual birthday post... but this post should make up for it.

Well. Tough times ahead.

Got caught by Mr Goh for not going to taf today, ah well I am among the better ones already, some do not even report for weeks on end. At least I am not so bad.

What else... hm. Thanks Ngiap, Hong shing and KCS for the wonderful present, it looks great on my desk. Thanks Jianny and john for getting what I have always liked for years.. thanks YX and Desmond chan for getting a nice gingerbread man, thanks Zejun for the diary and last but not least thanks Gary for the model aeroplane.

Wippee. Nowadays for some reason I am surfing China forums. They're not that hard to understand actually.

Bye bye
